Supt. Serio to Join CEOs on IIABNY Panel May 6

The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of New York Inc. will sharpen its focus on the future of the insurance industry May 6 when it hosts a CEO Roundtable at the association’s 2004 Local Association Leadership Conference and Annual Business Meeting.

New York Superintendent of Insurance Gregory V. Serio will join three insurance company executives for the roundtable discussion, which will examine market conditions for the upcoming year, the effects of industry consolidation, federal versus state regulation, New York’s assigned risk pool and alternate insurance arrangements.

Serio will be assisted at the Sagamore Resort in Bolton Landing, New York by panelists John Cavoores, president and chief executive officer of OneBeacon Insurance Group, V. Daniel Robinson, president of New York Central Mutual Fire Insurance Co. and Robert Williams, agency group president for Progressive Casualty Insurance Co. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions during the roundtable discussion and network with the panelists at a reception and luncheon immediately afterward.

Serio will also serve as keynote speaker at the luncheon and induct David R. Bauer, president of Capital Bauer Insurance Agency in Albany, as IIABNY’s 2004-2005 chair of the board.

The Syracuse-based trade association will elect an entire slate of officers and new members of its board of directors at the Annual Business Meeting, which will be held May 5 and 6, also at the Sagamore Resort. The roundtable discussion, luncheon and elections are being held in conjunction with IIABNY’s Local Association Leadership Conference.
