So workers comp. costs are rising. So are pretty much all medical costs. But, is that the problem?

Workers comp. claims are filed because people get hurt at work. People get hurt at work because lax safety and poor enforcement of safety standards by OSHA and insurance providers. The problem seems to be that not enough is being done to PREVENT the injuries to begin with.

Insurance companies are always justifying their rate increases by pointing out the increased number of claims and increased cost per claim. But, the real savings is to had by preventing accidents to begin with.

When insurance companies stop trying to play victim and start trying to advocate for better workplace safety, they’ll save money. Otherwise, they should pay out and keep quiet.
