She was only two years at Hartford.

Oh No! Another PGR executive. Bye-bye Hanover.

Actually a little PGR blood doesn’t hurt.

Another President reporting to a President! Will there be a President over Auto, a President over Homeowners, a President over Umbrellas, etc ? How about hiring people that can get the policies out the door!

I think that whether a person is a qualified professional is more about them and not necessarily about what company they have worked for . The Hartford and Progressive are well known as industry leaders and as a recruiter I can attest to the talent both of those companies are responsible for producing over a long , and at times tough Insurance market.

Congradualations are certainly in order in my opinion

Ms. Young seems infinitely qualified to run this company/division. I have been a President reporting to a “Group” President and it did not bother me nor my bank account. Titles are irrelavant but authority and payroll make it go.
The comments about “non-professional” emails seems to be somewhat protective from the female perspective. Whoa, Slow down. No one mentioned Ms. Young, just her prior employers.
Do not become over defensive about grouchy insurance weasels who are getting lower revenues and zero cash flow while getting every bit of work that any carrier can force to the retail level. I for one, like to joke about this business or I would have quit long ago.

Progressive and Hartford have spawned? some of the most competent executives creating some valuable long term markets and programs. Keep them coming.
Sorry, Ms. Recruiter, I have had much more success with female employees than any male. I even worked for one female for 9 months. (long story)

    Cheers,

    Hutch

This sounds like a good fit to me. Cynthia has a wonderful background with some impressive carriers (regardsless of what most people think of Progressive).
The fact is that Allmerica definately could use some help on the P&C side.
