Why does it seem that each carrier reduces rates only when confronted by the commissioner. Everyone needs to make a profit which is OK, but so far it doesn’t seem to be a landside of carriers jumping on board.

    Where is Hartford, Onebeacon, Encompass.

    What about homeowners insurance.

You would think if you have no auto accidents or homeowners claims the premiums would go down, butI guess that;s too simple

The market should take care of rates. If a company can deliver auto insurance at a lower fee than the rest of the market, they will get more of the business and the higher costing companies will lose enough business so they will have to lower rates as well.

What’s happening to rates with the new independant carrier “Drive Insurance” by Progressive? Will us agents have to offer higher priced insurance thru “Drive”? Most consumers already know they can get better rates by dealing directly with Progressive. Hopefully the Big I and PIA are standing up for their members in dealings with Progressive.
