Efforts to fight AUTO fraud has caused a drastic decrease in auto fraud, causing the decrease in auto rates.

If/when h/o fraud (or just overall payouts) decrease, then I’m sure eventually you would see h/o rates decrease as well.

We are all aware and thankful of those efforts but for the family who has 2 cars and a home, what are the increases or the average rate increase/decrease for the year. If Auto decreases 6% and Home increases 13% you have a seven percent in crease. Is there any data for the carriers rate increases in property insurance in NYS?

The HomeOwner’s line of business in NY is a loser. Rates are 30% too low, the line is heavily driven by the weather, deductibles are too low, and every peril that you can think of is covered. It is a loss leader so carriers can try to offset those losses with better results in other lines.
Also, Homeowners premiums are at least 1/3 those of Personal Auto, so Imans’s numbers don’t add up.
