The current worker’s compensation system im Massachusetts does all it can to keep the injured worker from getting back to work. The system was bought and paid for by the insurance lobby. It is wholly corrupt.

As an injured worker, I endured 16 months of getting nowhere, getting frustrated, being denied medical treatment, having a judge’s order for medical ignored,e being followed, going for bogus insurance funded medical exams, and even had a supposed “impartial” exam by a doctor who had not performed the type of surgery I need for more than 15 years.

Oh, yes, the system has worked; for big business. The Governor doesn’t care, the Commissioner of the the DIA doesn’t care, in fact, no one to whom I spoke did anything but give me lip service.

There are many WC bills up this session; none of them will pass. Legislators have little incentive to advocate for these bills when the contributions they will need to run for office again will come from the deep pockets of big business and not from the injured worker whose benefits have been cut off and who is broke.

The system here is a travesty and every workilng person in the state should be informed and concerned; any minute any one of them could become a statistic, just as I did.
