I find it appalling for Spitzer to find humor in abusing his position just for political position. He is a symbol of what is wrong in our country today.
i remeber pres. nixon on nbc\’s laughin saying\”sock it to me!\” honest, you have to check your history if your offended. ask yourself if this happened before? write me if you need help.
I thought this was hilarious! Even though I can\’t stand the positions this guy has been taking concerning the insurance industry, he seems to be a funny guy. It is kind of nice to see a side of him that doesn\’t make me want to vomit.
What I find remarkable is that IJ thought a \”fake news\” show (that\’s how it\’s billed) was important enough to report Spitzer\’s appearance. CNN, Fox, and MSNBC, watch out! Competition isn\’t coming, it\’s here!
He may be funny on Comedy Central but I see no humor in the way he has painted the entire insurance industry as corrupt. Like throwing out the baby with the bath water.
While there were impropritaries, the fact is that it was very isolated and could have been dealt with on a focused and isolated basis instead of grandstanding as he did and making the entire industry look corrupt!
He is a typical AG who wants to run for a higher office so he attacks high profile people and industry names for his own political gain. Is that humorous. Now I know why I would never watch Comedy Central!!
Well I hope someone in the New York state Government reviews what is going on with his campaign contributions with the race for Governor. You know the person that is always pointing fingers at others people usually has the most to hide.
1- Spitzer will make an excellent Governor.
2- Spitzer only touched the tip of the iceberg-bid rigging and various off shoots of same is an ongoing ill of the industry. Brokers of all sizes and shapes are guilty in varying degrees of bid rigging.
3- The complainers are probably the ones with the most to hide; the ones who put their interests (commissions, contingencies, etc.) before the interest of the client; or in their cases, customers.
Alwasys nice to hear the other side from a Spitzer staffer who is about as well informed as the man in the moon!! Nice job DC, your boss should be proud of you!!!
THAT\’S MY POINT!!! WHY IS EVERYONE SO UPTIGHT ABOUT THIS COMEDY ACT. IT\’S BEEN DONE BY NUMEROUS POLIITICIANS OVER MANY DECADES (I FORGOT ABOUT \”TRICKY DICK\” & HIS \”SOCK IT TO ME\” APPEARANCE – THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!!) THAT\’S JUST THE WAY THE (POLITICS) GAME IS PLAYED. FREE TV AIR TIME. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BEING A DEMOCRAT OR REPUBLICAN. WHY DO THEY DO IT, YOU ASK??? BECAUSE THEY CAN !!!! AND JOHN Q PUBLIC EATS IT UP. LOOK HOW MUCH TIME WE HAVE SPENT (er..\”WASTED\”) READING AND POSTING OUR COMMENTS ABOUT THIS GUY. HE EVEN GOT TO US!!! HE GOT GAME…….
Have any of you read the Marsh, Aon, and Willis complaints filed by Spitzer? If so, you can\’t honestly say that contingent abuse wasn\’t widespread. I was a broker at one of these three companies and left because I wouldn\’t job my clients by using the preferred markets. Whoever says that \”Spitzer stuck his nose where it didn\’t belong\” is a shill for corporate corruption.
Give me a break \”More Honest\” We\’re not saying some of the practices by the large brokers was not wrong. This guy finds anything he can for his personal advantage. He is trying to use any industry he can for his own personal advancement. Would you work for him?????
Yes, I\’d work for him in a heartbeat. I\’m in constant motion explaining to account reps what is out of line, many times w/o success. It is a problem and people need to be held accountable. If you disagree with that, you are either criminally liable or incompetent; somewhat the same argument as the current administration. Which one are you?
I am with you MAJ! DJ is probably some civil servant kissing some higher up butt! Obviously has NO!!!!idea what we go thru in the insurance business (cut commission, carriers discontinuing hot programs, Surplus lines regulations and excessive paper work to name a few). Being a broker is not as lucrative as it use to be. We are heavy regulated, we don\’t need the spitzer\’ chiming in.
Come on more honest have you never heard of PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS? You want to keep your markets you give your markets production to keep them. That is how the business works.
I\’ve been following this thread, but I\’m just an observor. Do independent agents or brokers (ie., those working for fee- or commission-paying insureds) have to meet insurers\’ production requirements? Are these disclosed to the insureds? If not, is this a form of contingent-type steering going on with regard to steering toward markets to meet the production requirements?

Hilarious!
You forgetting about Clinton – playing the saxophone on the Tonight Show or Letterman (same difference)?!?!?!?!?!?!

Yea, this stuff has gone on in the past and he\’s funny and all that, but I am just tired of people like him.

Hallalujah, someone finally sees my point. There is hope out there, come on brothers and sisters.
HAVEN\’T WE ALL BEEN SAYING HE WAS GETTING READY TO RUN FOR GOV. DIDN\’T DEWEY DO THE SAME IN THE LATE 40\’S AND TEDDY ROOSEVELY SEVERAL YEARS BEFORE
We knew he was making a name for himself at the expense of others, of course!
Well I hope someone in the New York state Government reviews what is going on with his campaign contributions with the race for Governor. You know the person that is always pointing fingers at others people usually has the most to hide.
Remember, when someone points a finger, they always have 3 pointing back at them!!
That\’s what my grandma used to tell us kids.

Um, hello- Dubya flying a fighter jet and landing on the aircraft carrier…the dems aren\’t the only ones who use cheap theatrics.
