Pa. Insurers Propose 8.5% Decrease for Workers’ Comp

Pennsylvania workers’ compensation insurers are recommending a decrease in what they charge to cover loss costs.

The Pennsylvania Compensation Rating Bureau has filed for an overall 8.58 percent decrease in collectible loss costs, effective April 1, 2006, on a new and renewal basis.

Also, the PCRB has calculated the Employer Assessment Factor effective April 1, 2006, to be 1.98 percent, as compared to the currently approved provision of 1.91 percent.

The insurance department has yet to rule on the filing.
