Once again Maryland\’s elected representatives have failed their constituencies. Bravo! Why not tack on another pay raise for the State Congress? Don’t forget our doctors and lawyers. Maybe another tax on working families so they can purchase another luxury automobile to park in the driveway while they take their children to private school in their Hummer. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Vote Republican!

the saying oes not contain the word \”democrats.\” absolute power has been known to corrupt Republicans as well. I prefer \”Throw the rascals out.\” Some years the rascals may be Republicans, but my guess is that the best bet is to never re-elect incumbents.

Why are you blaming the politicians? It is another case of Walmart doing what they want and expecting others to figure out how to live with it just as long as they continue to roll in the dough! Did you not read what it said that the state is having to pay for Walmart EMPLOYEES who cannot afford their health care???? They throw their weight around and now think they can control a state. This will be interesting and I am cheering for the state to show Walmart they are not always the boss.

Are you kidding me? Was an offer of employment made and accepted by every Wal-Mart employee? I\’ll answer that for you, yes. Now the State wants to renegotiate their benefits package for them? Are you kidding me sir? Are you joking? Maybe the State can renegotiate my contract too? Why stop with Wal-Mart?

Maybe Mr. \”Wal-Mart Caused It\” doesn\’t understand the situation. It\’s not as though Wal-Mart was sending it\’s employees to some nebulous state medical clinic. It just doesn\’t offer medical benefits until 6 months of employment.

Also, I usually don\’t care about party labels. You\’re either conservative or liberal. In Maryland, however, this was nothing but party politics. The democratic legislature\’s vote to override the republican governor\’s veto was precipitated by them lowering the required vote for override from 66 to 60%.

The liberals create taxpayer funded health insurance benefits and when the states\’ residents take advantage of the subsidy the residents\’ EMPLOYER is blamed for the expense and is forced to pay what the legislators have obligated the state to pay for but now prefer to shift to Wal-Mart.
