This should be front page news on all major newspapers and the nightly news to try and deter crime.

I am sure glad that these folks have been prosecuted & the Judge had the gumption to make these sentences reflect the crime!

I agree too that everyone should send this to the local papers so that it can be shared across the State. I bet if it was shared state wide that this Judge would never have to worry about future elections!

Have a great day & be careful not to slip & fall!

All that work for $84,000 over four years split between 6 people? And some of the money had to actually pay medical bills.

    Couldn\’t you get a Wal-Mart job to earn $3500 a year?

To Stunned…all that work? It would easy work to fake accidents, go to doctors, fill out reports, etc. Just because they were convicted and sentenced for $84,000 does not mean that is all they received. It is probable that they have been perpetuating these frauds for many years, and received payouts of much more than that. These are just the cases that were proven and prosecuted…for each one of those there is probably 10 other claims that were made.

If major insurers oversight and management groups were found to be approving of unfair and financially deceptive (fraudulent) claim settlement practices, would they go to prison for longer terms because of all of the people damage they had intentionally, and unnessessarily caused?

If $84,000.00 gets you 8-12, what does $84-$184 Billion get you?

The problem is, the punishment has to fit the crime. I hardly think putting a CEO in prison for 8-12 is going to do them any good. The point of justice is so it doesn\’t happen anymore, and there are other ways in the case of a fraudilent CEO than to take more money out of my pocket by providing for them in prison.

I was thinking of moving to Altoona. I\’ve been reading the local news, and it seems there\’s a lot of crime in Blair County. I slipped and fell, and after a year and 1/2 I\’ve still not fully recovered. Now I know why they say, \”Don\’t break a leg.\”
