Pa., Del., Md. Agents Name Board Members

The Insurance Agents and Brokers of Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland announced its new board members for the upcoming 2006-07 term at its annual board meeting in Baltimore.

In addition to appointing board members to oversee the service group, chair and vice chairmen were also appointed for each state association.

For newly appointed IA&B officers, the service group elected Tony L. Bennett, of Churchville, Md., as chairman for the 2006-07 term. He is owner/manager of Famous & Spang Associates of Aberdeen, Md.

G. Kevin Nemith, of CNC Insurance Associates, Inc. of Dover, Del. has been named as the organization’s vice chairman. Nemith will also serve as the Delaware Association chairman. He is president of CNC Insurance Associates of Dover.

Outgoing chairman, John Collins of Bloomsburg, Pa., will serve as the immediate past chairman. Collins owns and operates Collins Insurance, Inc. in Bloomsburg.

For newly-appointed IA&B of Pennsylvania officers, Frank R. Cosner Jr., of New Hope was elected chairman for the 2006-07 term. He is a partner at The Pidcock Agency in New Hope.

Thomas G. McElhaney, of State College, was elected vice chairman for the 2006-07 term. He is the personal lines manager of Frost & Conn, Inc. of State College.

For newly-appointed IA&B of Pennsylvania board members
Norman F. Basso, of York was elected to the board of directors for the 2006-09 term. He is chief operating officer and executive vice president of E.K. McConkey & Co., Inc. in York.

Robert B. Hall, of West Chester was elected to the board of directors for the 2006-09 term. He is president of Francis Hall Insurance & Risk Management Services in West Chester.

For newly-appointed IA&B of Maryland officers, Linda A. McCann, of Salisbury, was elected chairman for the 2006-07 term. She is president of the Bay Shore Insurance Inc. of Salisbury.

Connie Phillips, of Frederick, was elected vice chairman for the 2006-07 term. She is president of Connie Phillips Insurance.

IA&B represents more than 1,650 insurance agencies in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware.

Each state association is affiliated with one or more national associations. The IA&B of Delaware and the IA&B of Maryland are affiliated with the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA). The IA&B of Pennsylvania is affiliated with the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (Big “I”) and the National PIA.
