Corzine\’s \”Click it or Ticket\” push applies to everyone but himself. Reminds me of Gore\’s plea that everyone change their lifestyle; everybody but Gore. What hypocrites!

Bet you that the Governor will not get the $64 citation for not wearing his seatbelt.

My defense in NJ should I ever get pulled over will be, Corzine didn\’t wear one, why should I?

What do you expect from a politician. They feel they are entitled to great things, not subject to the very laws the hang around our necks. He got what he deserved. Both he and the driver should be ticketed, big time. That would set another example!

To make reading these comments more fun, count the number of entries it takes before we get a Clinton, Gore or otherwise general reference to a liberal.

It\’s predictable, but still fun on an otherwise boring afternoon.

May I borrow your excuse for not wearing seat belts in Washington? I like that one very much. Guess I could try not wearing my seat belt while traveling the death corridor called I-5 but I am a scaredy cat! Otherwise I would test this excuse…

A politician who doesn\’t practice what he preaches? Never heard of such a thing. This is embarrassing for him. BUSTED!

Does anybody know why seatbelts are not required on school buses? I never could understand that. Somebody please enlighten me. And don\’t say \”cost\”.

Probably because kids would use the seatbelts to hit each other. Seatbelts can be HARMFUL!! :-)

I guess the theory is that the seats are designed with high backs filled with shock absorbant so that seatbelts are unnecessary. Also, over the shoulder seatbelts wouldn\’t work in busses and lap belts only are known to cause severe abdominal injuries. Combine this with the fact that busses are much larger than most other vehicles on the road, and I guess people just didn\’t think it was a worthy idea.

    Draw your own conclusions….

I think the Journel should send the comments to Corzine but I wonder if he can actually read..
Maybe, it would bring that imbecile down a peg or two, or three.
But I question those in NJ that voted him in?? Curious.

It’s all Bush’s fault. If we had a President who was not the devil incarnate we would not have people so frustrated that they completely forget their duties as citizens. Then this would never have happened. We have to lay the blame on President Bush. Isn’t that right, Rosie?

Why is there a seatbelt law? To protect us! The consequence of not wearing a seatbelt is a ticket if you get caught or worse if you are not wearing one in an accident. Corzine suffered the consequences of his own actions (or failure to act). Why would anyone in their right mind look to a politician for example. Just take one look at the U.S. Congress to get an idea of how absurd that suggestion is!!!

Just curious – is the Highway Patrol going to consider disciplining this officer for speeding and for not assuring that the front seat passenger in the car he was operating (on official business) was complying with traffic laws?

This is good. In most states unless the police actually observe the law being broken they can not give a ticket.

Sad that the top elected state officail is a role model of what NOT to do.

Nobody has brought up the subject of the med bills for this incident. sounds like the bills will be in the high tens of thousands, good chance over $100k. Don\’t know what the health plan/auto coverage insurance for state employees is in N.J., but the bottom line is the good \’ol taxpayers on on the hook for a might big bill. Maybe they can have the gov cover it by payroll deduction.

Perhaps the taxpayers should revolt and withhold payment of state taxes to fund the medical cost. Mr. Gov should have plenty of his own funds to handle it.

As a Jerseyite, and a law binding human being, I am very angered by Corzine\’s actions, or lack of. Should he not also pay for his own medical bills, which he can well afford, the State should be reimbursed for any related expenses that this accident has caused.

Our tax burden is bad enough!

The incubus \”W\” placed undercover CIA agents to pose as state troopers in an attempt to dicredit a fine Government servant of the people. It will be rpoven that the seatbelt had been programmed to disengage right at the time of the accident –foools you will all see one day!!!!

Remember, whoever trashes a liberal first, wins the game. Additional liberal trashing and personal attacks are good practice for the future editions of Insurance Journal Daily Headlines.

Good luck…And please Insurance Journal editors…make sure to pick those articles which have little to do with insurance, but are sure to spark the anger and bitterness I\’ve come to expect each and every day in these comments areas. Please!

I think the Trooper and the Governor both should get a huge ticket. “They said Gov. Jon S. Corzine, who wasn’t wearing a seat belt”. AND “Trooper Robert Rasinski, Corzine’s driver”…
“Corzine’s SUV was going 91 mph in a 65 mph zone just before the crash, according to state police”.

All the injuries which governor Corzine suffered were caused by his seatbelt except the knee injury which was caused by the dashboard as the vehicle was stove in. Governor Corzine was the only one in the vehicle wearing a seatbelt. No one else in the vehicle was injured. The insurance industry has been taken in by government propaganda, which has cost it hundreds of millions of dollars. It is worth noting that the first helicopter on the scene was not the medivac helicopter to aid the governor but a police helicopter which whisked away the trooper who was driving the vehicle before he could talk to the media. Most of the folks who are pushing this blood soaked scam have either been ordered to do it or paid to do it. But the insurance industry has just plain been bamboozled. It’s hard to believe that people smart enough to run billion dollar corporations could be so stupid. You can find out more about this by visiting our website, http://www.safetychoice.org
