“It neither affirms the status quo nor jumps headlong or without controls into the Wild West of competition,”
By “Wild West of competition,” the (dis)honorable gov means business operating according to peoples’ needs and wants without the state skimming of its take.
Your’re “right on!” Healthyskeptic. This state is so full of it’s political self that it has become almost socialistic. Competition is NOT the wild west??! It is how the rest of America’s economy works! Consumers ALWAYS drive the market when there is competition. The state has nothing to fear except it’s lost stature as CONTROLLER of this bull***t. Meanwhile,
companies like Commerce are red-lining young drivers through AAA Insurance Agency and laughing all the way to the bank!! (By the way, Commerce was the biggest political contributer last year in Massachusetts!)
problem is that government still wants control. in most states they have a good insurance commissioner whom controls those issues w/o the push of the government. it allows friendly competition w/o the hodgepodge of gouging. look around, how many other states have a competative rating system? new jersey just recently changed its system over 2 yrs ago.
