I’m shocked, absolutely shocked, that this plan caused prices to go up and will cost taxpayers more than they were initially told. The evil insurance companies must be behind this, because I know that the good Republican governor would never have sold his state a bill of goods and not fully disclosed potential costs. And I know that our good Democratic candidates for president would not attempt to sell the American people a similar bill of goods without fully disclosing the potential costs. I’m sure there is a misunderstanding here and that if we can all just pull together and help out those less fortunate than we, that we can truly provide health insurance for everyone without these greedy-corporate-driving cost overruns.

    (Please recognize the sarcasm)

I think the lobbyists, insurers, doctors and hospitals are all in cahoots with each other driving up the cost of procedures, office visits and such and making national healthcare reform look like a crock. If the government is mostly subsidizing this plan then we won’t need Aetna, Blue Cross, etc at the level we need them right now. It’s the same argument made when commercial insurers get upset that insurance pools are getting loans and ale to carry more insureds. They don’t want anyone else getting a slice of the pie bu still want to retain the right to cancel policies at a whim and take insureds to the cleaners via premium.

I don’t put anything past anyone.

Actually, the governor of MA is a Democrat. And doe it surprise anyone that the state that brought us the “Big Dig” fiasco would bring us “Big Healthcare”?

Mitt Romney, a Republican, is the one that came up with and instituted the health care fiasco in that state. Maybe he knew it was messed up and that’s why he’s letting Hillary take it for a spin on the campaign trail instead of pointing at what he did while governor.

You’re right lastbat, it was Romney (a Republican) who put his crazy plan into place!

It sounds like a great idea, until the fine print comes out after the fact. Where;s the insurance commissioner and the policy makers and legislaters who allowed this? Do you know there are committees who oversee various issues like this? Members of the Senate and House and others have meetings and public hearings during the course of the year, but the meetings are kept under-rap. You can call the clerk at the state house to find out how to know when meetings are held.

My friend, 18 years old, homeless, in the army, unemployed went to file his taxes, he was informed by the tax preparer that $1,800 taken out of his returns because he had no health insurance.

My classmate at UMass Boston, purchased the subsidized state health insurance and was told by the school that the insurance she purchased by the state was not good enough and was then forced to purchase the insurance offered through the college.

What a scam!. Colleges are behaving like corporations! Money hungry, and a state college at that!
