Firefighters with cancer will be presumed to have developed the disease on the job, but in order to receive the pensions, they’ll be required to show that they don’t smoke, use drugs or abuse alcohol.

So, how are they going to prove that? do i need to send in them my medical records? afterall, why should i send that since that is private information. do i get a spouse or friend to testify that i have not smoked or drugs? or do i need to show my criminal record showing that i have possibly had a dui?! if they passed this bill, it should be on them since they deemed that the cancer is job related?! what – cancer that is job related?! um…um…where’s the proof of that one?!

What if they live in a house with another smoker… Secondhand Smoke?

How about if they moonlight at the local floresent light bulb factory…

or weld on the weekends as a hobby…

or have alongstanding history of cancer in their family…

no drugs/alcohol or ciggies – genetics aside and do whatever you want on your spare time…you’re covered.

Obviously some firefighters on the city council. Residents should be outraged over this gratuitous coverage that they’ll be paying for somehow. But hey, why limit it to cancer. Why not consider any disease a disability. It it wasn’t for the arogant and wealthy residents, I’d retire there so when I catch a disease I’d get paid.

Ok….I saw a claim once where a school teacher was claiming that their colo-rectal cancer was ‘job related’ and they were attempting to get this covered by their WC also, as opposed to their standard medical policy. I know some of the students were likely to be pains in the ***, but beyond that, I found it difficult to make this causal connection…
