Virginia Mine Where Worker Died Had 48 Safety Violations

    um….48 violations and yet there were mostly completing paperwork. so did any of the paperwork violations cause any safety issues? was anyone hurt because of them? here’s the one problem when you start an article out because of this. you make it sound like there are many things wrong. in actuality, there may have been only 10% related directly to the work environment vs paperwork. although, we do need to complete paperwork to validate that safety compliance is ongoing, does not justify that there are many mistakes at this company saying that the safety of the mine is at risk. so how many are true violations of actual safety not paperwork? it’s been only since 2005, so the past 3 yrs. interesting note, if you read the article, the person that died is one of those whom are responsible for putting up the mining roof. is there something he might have forgotten to do before the collapse? just have to wait for the inspection to clear the shaft or mine! LOL.
