    1. Don’t live in a house built near a dam. Chances are good that you’ll experience a flood at some time.

    2. Have homeowners and/or flood insurance.

    3. Don’t be so stupid as to think somebody else can foresee everything nature might cause and protect you from it.

    Just for the record, Homeowners policies generally exclude flood. Which is why (if you’re an agent) you should be offering a flood policy to all your clients. If they don’t buy the coverage, have them sign a rejection form. Failing to do either (if you’re an agent) I’d recommend your buying as much E&O insurance as you can afford. Stupidity is not excluded under the E&O form.

    Don’t mean to get off the subject but does anyone know where I can find information on the Statefarm Class Action suit involving thier inflation guard coverage?
