R.I.-Based Commercial Insurer FM Global Revamps Top Management

FM Global, one of the world’s largest commercial property insurers, has made numerous promotions and reassignments within its senior management team that are to become effective Jan. 1, 2009.

Brian J. Hurley, executive vice president of FM Global’s North and South America operations since 1989, will retire after a 38-year career with the company.

Ruud H. Bosman, executive vice president at FM Global since 1991, will become vice chairman, a newly created position within the company. Bosman has worked at FM Global since 1971.

Jonathan W. Hall, senior vice president of FM Global’s underwriting and reinsurance division, will become an executive vice president. Hall will oversee various divisions within the company including underwriting and reinsurance, engineering and research, claims, as well as marketing and training. He joined the company in 1980.

Thomas A. Lawson, senior vice president of FM Global’s engineering and research division since 2001, also will become an executive vice president. Lawson will oversee FM Global’s North and South America insurance operations. Lawson has been employed by the company since 1979.

Carol G. Barton, senior vice president of FM Global’s commercial lines division since 2001, will become senior vice president of underwriting and reinsurance. She joined FM Global in 1973.

Brion E. Callori, vice president and operations manager of FM Global’s New York operations, will become senior vice president of engineering and research. He has worked at FM Global since 1979.

Michael C. Lebovitz, vice president and manager of FM Global business unit Affiliated FM since 2001, will become senior vice president and division manager of Affiliated FM. He joined the organization in 1985.

The management team will be based in the company’s corporate offices in Johnston, R.I., USA.
