IT’S TIME THAT POLICTICIANS REALIZE THAT THERE IS ANOTHER SIDE TO THE TAX REVENUE/ SPENDING BALANCE SHEET. YOU CAN ACTUALLY CUT SPENDING. IN FACT, PERHAPS THIS ECONOMIC DOWNTURN COULD HAVE A SILVER LINING IN THAT IT WILL TEACH OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS TO CUT THEIR BLOATED SPENDING PRACTICES, AND DRATICALLY REDUCE THE SIZE AND SCOPE OF GOVERNMENT. WE NEED TO REALIZE THAT THE FEDERAL AND STATE GOVERNMENT’S OUT-OF-CONTROL SPENDING POLICIES HAVE HAD A DIRECT IMPACT ON THIS ECONOMIC CATASTROPHE.

    I agree but…

Sadly, cutting spending is almost impossible without cutting programs the gov’t should not be involved with in the first place.

That’s the real threat of the socialist, communist, and Marxist rhetoric we’ve been hearing and policies we’ve been seeing… once you start it, it’s impossible to stop without a revolution.

Most of the rediculous social programs the governement is strapped with started in the 1940’s. That’s almost 70 years of govt’t involvement creating a culture of dependancy. How can you cut that when so many could not function in any other system since (in some instances) they’ve had 4 generations of living on those programs – that’s all they know.

Sadly, too many in the gov’t do what is immediately beneficial to getting themselves re-elected but do not think forward enough to the extended ramifications their actions will have. That’s what happens when you start thinking with your heart.
