The Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles plans to save money by ending the mailing of renewal reminders.
Officials say vehicle registration renewal reminders will now be communicated by telephone and e-mail.
The change takes effect Jan. 1 and is expected to save about $130,000 annually.
If residents haven’t provided a telephone number or e-mail address, the division says it will still mail out the reminders.
Residents can provide the state with an e-mail address or phone number at the DMV Web site or at DMV offices.
