Stores should install automatic doors that
unlock at designated time, to avoid such incidents.

That is what caused the stampede in the first place, Hollywood. If the doors had been open at the first gathering of shoppers, the people could’ve simply filed in and out like normal; waiting for a designated time to open while a mass mob grows outside is a recipe for disaster.

Actually, there are only two groups at fault for this incident, Wall-Mart and the crowd and both should be charged with the crime. Wall-Mart for staging what they knew would be a mob for a few sale items and each person identified on the camera should be charged with manslaughter.

These were people who trampled into a flipping store with no regard for anyone but themselves. They behaved like animals.
Walmart is not responsible for my behavior anymore than they are of the animals that were waiting outside the store that day. The crowd is in deed responsible for this mans death. Shame on them.

Have any of you ever been to one of these sales? It wouldn’t matter if they had opened at 1am. The crowd was the problem. People in these crowds can and will act like idiots. It doesn’t even take that big a sale item, it’s the challenge of getting it before the other person. Are they not supposed to have sales on the biggest sale day of the year? Walmart is always to blame to some people. People trying to beat out other people are the problem, but they aren’t the ones with the deep pockets.

Walmart has these sales at all of their stores – nobody was trampled anywhere else. It was the crowd of careless, thoughtless people that were to blame

Tragic as it may be, the real cuprits here are the pieces of human garbage that had to act like animals to gain entry to the store to save a few bucks. What’s the foreseeability that hundreds of alleged human beings would be so stupid, so selfish, and so careless to crush another human being to get into a store? This is a sad commentary on the current level of civiliation. You need only to watch the video clip to know precisely what segment of the population was involved.

Intersting how WE all know that “people behave like animals” when there is some bargain available but Walmart doesn’t know this? Yes, I would like to believe that only the idiots in the crowd were to blame (you know, take care of your fellow man, take responsibility, etc) but those days are over for this county. Unfortunately, Walmart is to blame.

I say sue the shoe manufacturers. Because in all fairness the people most likely never touched him, their shoes did. So I say go after Nike, Convers, Rebock, etc… What a crazy society we live in. Sue the police for not being there or having enough officers?!?!?!?? I guess we could sue if anything was ever stolen from us…where were the cops, or for kids being hurt by adults (whatever it may be), then grow up and sue the police for not being in their homes stopping it. No more suiing Priests, sue the police. Get real court system and throw this crap out.

To everyone today: You’ve ALL got terrific responses and solutions.
The key to this whole tragedy is that WalMart had this happen before, and yet did nothing to protect against it happening again.
I believe WalMart to be part responsible for that man’s death & yes ; all the peeps (perps) in that store video should be hauled in
At the end of the day, why can’t we just rely on people to “behave ?”
Answer: Some of these people have NEVER behaved properly…-and never will
You need a practice on-site to protect the shoppers, and enforcement, and tough laws

I’m with Elizabeth 100%. Every greedy POS that trampled this poor man should be charged with a crime and spend some time in jail.

I totally agree, there are what is commonly called “Trailer Trash.” No respect for anyone and their kids are exactly the same way. Brought up with the influence of “ME ME ME” and “MINE MINE MINE.”

Have you ever watched two grown WO-MEN fight over an object in a store because it is the last one. I have and it is one hillarious sight to see. This is the point where WalMart is to blame. They announce a sale of certain items, but only stock a minimal amount of them. For an example, WalMart has one hundred pieces of “Trailer Trash” fighting over the group of ten items each that were on sale. No security is available. A cop has better sense that to even go near a mob with this type of mentality.

You even see this in the parking lot on days when there is no sale going on. I have seen WO-MEN get out and fight over a damn parking spot because they are too lazy to walk a little distance to get in the store.

So if I am a responsible person who is looking to save a few bucks, but gets stuck in the middle of this moving mob and have no idea what I am stepping on until it is too late, I’m a greedy POS and need to go to jail?
