Is this even worthy of a legislature’s time? How is a business owner supposed to differentiate between those of genuine need and people that just want to get into their business area? Unbeleivable – of course this will give the lawyers more work so I suppose it is a stimulus enhancement of sorts…..

Law makers must divert the public’s attention away from their corruption and mismanagement so this is what they do. In Maryland, in the middle of this economic down turn and decreasing tax revenues the Governor wanted to talk about the death penalty and gay marriage. Meanwhile he increased spending (yes, he increased spending) while at the same time warning of future deficits?!? Yeah, bathroom access for people with Crones, that’s about par for the course.

Wouldn’t some Depends solve this problem? Seems there is already a solution.

So if some “homeless guy” who has not had a bath in a month and has aids, hepititis, and other diseases comes in your office you will have to let him crap all over your restroom?

A soiled depends ‘man diaper’ absorbs twice its weight in moisture, and retains ambient heat at up to 30% higher temperature than average outdoor measured temperature. Not surprisingly, depends are now boycotted since they contribute to gorebal warming. In order to fully experience a package of depends, users will be required to participate in carbon offsets. Each discharge can be offset by planting a tree.

    Talk about good government!

Lets hope that the lawmakers private privys are open for public use also. That should make for a very limited duration of this stupid idea.

well, for those that think the homeless will make a mess in your bathrooms, how many of you realize that your own colleagues have not coothe either? how many times have you noticed that the seat is wet? how many times have you found toilet paper trailing from you feet? don’t go blaming this on the homeless making a mess. what i do blame this on – is a congressman that just wants to make a name for himself. this should not be an issue. if i paid for the lease of a building that building or suite is under my control. this becomes a private use building. because if it were a public use, then the police department can come onto the property and serve tickets for wrong parking!

I suffer from a disorder and have had some serious incidents in my past. I was in the mall in a sporting goods store last year and had an episode. It was either to use a bathroom in 2 minutes or it explodes into my pants.

I was denied access, but rather than facing the ultimate embarrassment, I slid between a rack of cloths and had my diarrhea right there on the floor.

The police were called and I was arrested. All charges were dropped when I presented a doctors note in court.

I keep the doctors note with me virtually every where I go now, and I hope this legislation at least opens some eyes to my disability.

Samantha – if yours is a true story then I’m sorry for your condition but fail to understand why the rest of the world must revolve around your personal issue. As gross as they are, you can wear adult diapers for such emergencies while out and about. I see no way you can be guaranteed 100% access to a restroom at all times and if you only have 2 minutes warning then what do you do when driving or taking the bus? That is simply not enough time to get to a rest room under any circumstance.
Sorry, but I don’t believe your issue overrides such things as security and the private property of others.

    1. If I had that serious of a problem I would wear the diapers and I would not squat down and go anywhere. If I had an accident I’d leave and go to a public restroom and change. If you’ve ever had a kid that has done this – trust me, you need to change.
    2. What does this have to do with insurance. The liability! More people using the floor when the bathroom is denied.

    What a bunch of crap!
