If I qualify for the Baltimore City Weatherization Assistance Program maybe then my house will qualify for this new Green Coverage? Let’s see, I’ve got my WIC, my housing subsidy, my free smoke alarm and fire extinguisher, the fuel fund of MD for energy assistance, SCHIP for my children’s health care and now weatherization assistance. Hey, who’s going to pay for my insurance? Certainly not me. Obama! Help! I need green insurance coverage too.

Green insurance discounts? It will cost more to repair solar pannels than a standard roof, etc. Show me stats where a green house is less of an exposure. They do not exist. This is junk PC BS.

You said it ! To outfit an average 1600 sq ft home with solar panels is about $20,000 – with your govt rebate it’s still about $8,000 out of pocket… Yippie – I just saved 5% on my homeowners insurance… So what happens when the house burns and the panels are damaged or destroyed… Unless I’m an idiot… It’s going to cost $20,000 to replace the panels – and the insurance company don’t get no stinkin’ rebate ! What a load of crap – they’ll be cryin after the first couple of years = Obama – I need a bailout!

They didn’t say that a green home got a 5% discount off of the regular insurance rates, they got a 5% discount from the GREEN homeowners product rates. No where does it say how the cost of green insurance compares to the regular insurance, but you an bet its more expensive to cover the increased exposure.
