Fire Causes $300K in Damage to Maryland Auto Business

Maryland State Fire Marshals say a fire has destroyed a Manchester automotive company and 12 cars inside. There were no injuries.

The fire began about 11:20 a.m. Friday when workers at Ron’s Automotive noticed the fire. About 100 firefighters from Maryland and Pennsylvania were called to help fight the fire.

It took firefighters about two hours to get the blaze under control. It caused about $300,000 in damage.

Fire Marshals said about 12 cars, including models dating to 1938, were inside the building and were destroyed. Several cars parked outside and tractors and lawn equipment and machinery were damaged or destroyed.

Investigators don’t know what caused the fire or where it started.
