told you all it wouldn’t fly once the legislature got wind of it …… probably a great idea from a safey standpoint, but in a state where “donorcyclists” do not have to wear helmets, adult drivers do not have to wear seat belts and as long as they don’t have an accident, no one is required to have automobile liability insurance!

A large percent of the homes in NH are in rural areas where there is no public water supply; instead they have a well with an electric powered pump. The flow rate of the well may or may not supplpy enough water to effectivly put out a fire; and that assumes that there is power to the well pump when the sprinker is triggered.

These kinds of regulations make as much sense as low flush toilets for people who have a well and a septic system.

For my rural home (and money) I put in a fire pond. It reduces my insurance rating and is effective. FYI – I am a commercial broker and fully support sprinkler systems in commercial and habitational occupancies. It is also a reasonable requirement that these systems be inspected periodically. But residential rural homes??? Give me a break!!

Hopefully the legislature will recognize the insanity and kill the regulation!

Rural Home you are so right! Let’s hope NH legislators see that they are taking away the “Live Free or Die” State and are replacing it with “Live By The Rule of Law or Die” State, we are being legislated outta here!
