Acadia to Offer EPLI Coverage in New England

Maine-based Acadia Insurance said it will begin offering new employment practices liability insurance (EPLI) coverage enhancement next month for small business customers in Maine, Connecticut and Rhode Island.

Acadia said it will also extend the coverage to customers in New Hampshire starting October 1, and plans to offer this coverage in Massachusetts, New York and Vermont pending state approval by those states’ regulators.

“Employment-related lawsuits are a serious hazard to all businesses regardless of size, but unfortunately for small business owners, one single employment related lawsuit can drain them of their time, money and even their business,” said Bobbi Amero, Acadia’s chief underwriting officer.

New and existing Acadia customers with Business Owner Policies (BOP) and package policies with liability premiums up to $7,000 are eligible for Acadia’s EPLI coverage, which includes a $100,000 limit, $5,000 deductible, defense costs and claims-made coverage.
