    What dumb *** would climb into a freaking sewer without checking for oxygen or toxic gasses first? And a firefighter who knows about these hazards? These guys were experienced. Another tragedy caused by carlessness.

    Actually OSHA regulations require all manholes be purged before entering. They must run a fresh air punp for a specified amount of time depending upon the size of the manhole. The worker disregarded work safety rules and this is the sad result.

    Good info BC, thanks. While tragic, it was preventable. Now let’s watch the families start suing for money because of their loved ones carelessnes. ALWAYS…..follow the money.
