we all know it won’t be the lawyers that will make sure this form gets signed. It will be the underpaid paralegal that will do all the work and the lawyer that will take all the credit!

No one would argue that a homeowner who hasn’t
paid their mortgage for one or two years should
kep their home. But we are still and always a
nation of laws and the lawyers who signed up
for this foreclosure bonanza must realize this.
The loss of a home is devastating and the
reasons for an orderly process to get that
homeowner out is one bounded by rules & LAWS.
Under the SOX Act, CEO’s were/are required to sign off on the SEC reports. What makes these
so different. Good on that NY judge.

At my own closing I was required to sign a form that I would come back and sign any forms that I had forgotten to sign. I would think that, at the very least, the attorney should sign a form saying that they did sign any forms that they sugned.

What genius!!!! Hold lawyers accountable for the forms they sign and acknowledge as being true and accurate. Where has this judge been for the past 50 years? How does a court system in NY exist without these kinds of basic and common sense being in place? This is a pathetic example of half-assed people doing a half-assed job and getting paid big bucks. Who takes it in the backside? The consumer as usual.
