I love upstate NY; have vacationed there several times and it is gorgeous. And I feel your pain about having to disclose your commission. Just feel lucky you are getting 15%! I don’t have to disclose my compensation here in Florida unless I “rebate” which, if I DO FOR ONE,I MUST DO FOR ALL and that ain’t going to happen! However, sadly, most of my commission rates are MUCH less than 15%, particularly for property which works out to 8% or so; auto is a bit more lucrative.
And to make you feel even better, there are now 6 Federal Auto Fraud Task Forces in the United States AND TWO OF THEM ARE IN FLORIDA: one in Miami and as of 4 – 5 months ago, a second in Tampa. PIP was supposed to prevent lawsuits for minor auto accident injuries. It has morphed entirely out of control by thieves and those who are gaming the system. Most of my auto carriers have filed new underwriting guidelines which bar folks with 2 or more PIP claims, legitimate or not, and one company has gone completely bonkers regarding the coverage they provide for use of an “insured” vehicle by a permissive operator and providing ZERO coverage in a rental car. Check out this website: http://www.1800askgary.com/
I saw a billboard for THAT and thought I would throw up. Is NY PIP more than $10,000?

Let’s stick together! Happy New Year!

I just heard it on the radio that Every 6 months, you should compare auto insurance rates with several auto insurance companies to find the best deal, also he was saying something about “Clearance Auto Insurance” who provide insurance for dollars. Search online.

They filed these results just after the study in which they found that water was wet and can quench thirst.

I am definitely working on the wrong end of the insurance business spectrum.

And to make matters worse, I now have to show every client that I make a lousy 15-percent commission on their auto policy… it’s down right embarrassing.
