Politics are insane. Taxpayers pay taxes for services. All we get now are more politicians and bigger government with bigger perks, and the politicians balance the budget by cutting the services we want so we have to pay for them again with new taxes. Someone else should balance the budgets; someone who will cut the politicians and not the police!

Yes I read the article. I will try to dumb it down for you, youngster. The township had to cut their police force because they could not afford the insurance. Now they have to tax people who attend events at the pavillion so they can hire police for events. I believe that they could afford a police department and insurance if they looked at the township politicians and cut them and spending waste instead of cutting the services of the police, which people who pay taxes would like to have.

“Cut waste”, yes, if only you had been there to give the supervisors that advice, maybe they would still have a police force to patrol concert events at taxpayer expense.

It is sad but true. If the police force is going to get sued and the rates go up then they will have to pass the cost on to the “users” of the concert facilities so they can continue to pay the added cost of having them patrol there. I do not disagree they probably could find some “wasted money” to cut, but the user tax is one way to solve the problem.
