Heffernan Appoints Bayeux Senior VP for New York Office

Walnut Creek, Calif.-based Heffernan Insurance Brokers has hired John Bayeux to join its New York City office as senior vice president, financial services practice leader.

Bayeux brings 30 years of industry experience to Heffernan. His past responsibilities for national insurance firms included senior positions in brokerage and risk management, where he specialized in delivering products and services geared to the risk management needs of financial institutions.

At Heffernan, Bayeux will assume a leadership role in the firm’s directors and oficers and management liability practice, as well as expand the company’s reach into financial institutions, renewable energy, real estate, law and technology.

The firm has been bringing in a number of new senior managers in recent months. During the past month, it hired Catherine Torsney as senior vice president and director of its fine art, jewelry and rare collections practice in the New York office. It also appointed Robert Stumper as senior vice president of employee benefits for its New York location in September.

Heffernan Insurance Brokers, formed in 1988, offers property, liability, group medical insurance, personal insurance and financial services. Headquartered in Walnut Creek, Calif., Heffernan has 420 employees and maintains offices in San Francisco, Petaluma, Palo Alto, Los Angeles and Orange, Calif.; Portland, Ore.; St. Louis and New York.
