The hospital closed because it was 1 billion in debt. That would probably mean that the hospital was not able to pay their bills probably because they were not able to collect from the patients that they treated because they themselves did not have insurance. And the protestors are demanding that the hospital reopen and demand healthcare for all – free health care, free college and a minimum wage of $23/hour. That’s a nice dream that they have going. Someone needs to tell them that on this planet, there are no free rides; people do need to work and sometimes starting at the bottom leads you to the top. Not all of the 1% got there because they were born there.

I think we should set up a job fair in the park. That would make the protesters leave.

What kind of job Mikey. Walmart? Hope you get one of “those jobs” some day. Occupier works, pay taxes, mortgages, health insurance and all of the other great American things required of us. However, the $23 hour job does not pay for the $6 shampoo, 1,000 a month health insurance, 33% tax. I don’t call that a free ride. People like you who likely paid nothing in taxes last year are the ones getting the free rides off the rest of us with your hidden tax loop holes! Hope the same good stuff happens to you. Hope your family member gets sick, you loose that job your so proud of and it all comes down on your head Mikey! Hope you get to find out what it feels like to be a bottom feeder again Mikey.

Perhaps the protestors should be protesting at the White House for ramming the dastardly health care bill down the throat of America. More and more hospitals will go belly up and thousands of doctors will be leaving the profession unless this bill is repealed by the next Congress & President. We need one of those Tsunami’s to sweep the Progressive Socialists out.

The Occupy… are upset because corporations took the bailout (they did not get it). The Tea Party was mad because the Govt gave the bailouts (that we could not afford). Definitely two different sides of the aisle!

I am sick and tired of hearing the word bailout. First companies were given loans. many have paid back. the bailout was gioven to stupid projects that cost us billions, sounded great at the time and did nothing. Like the electric car company that got 500mm then shipped jobs to china. The solar panel fiasco. Educators getting 500mm to study how we need to measure preschool kids readiness for kindergarten (not do anything).there is so much stupidity on all sides. I am ready to move to Costa Rica.

Our agency monthly health insurance cost is $755 per person (all over 50) which is far more expensive than our monthly taxes. I don’t blame them for protesting. Most of them want jobs yet formerly proud American businesses now care about CEO profit, not company community. A capitalist society can have a generous business community but our country has chosen to become very selfish and the very rich are in competetion with each other for amassing wealth… they don’t see the rest of us.

I think they do need to look at the companies who are making all the excess profits. Health care is not a luxury, but many of us will no longer be able to afford the cost of health insurance if it keeps going up.

Malpractice law suits need to be looked at carefully to help keep the cost of health care down. Also the cost of some drugs is getting out of sight.

I’m 61 and have been working full time over 40 years. My 75 year old husband has to continue working a part time job so we can make ends meet. It seems like we are going backwards. What will the future bring?
