Wonder if they have something in the law to limit the cycle owners and riders right to sue for head injuries because they elected to go without a helmet. Try driving without a seat belt!!

In MA, motorcycles are excluded from PIP coverage. You must buy Medical Payments coverage to have any medical if injured; unless of course, you are hit by someone and they are at fault. Personally, if someone doesn’t want to wear a helmet then they should NOT be allowed to collect under any auto policy. We tax payers end up taking care of uninsured bikers who need long term care due to head injuries! Check out some of the head injury residential wards… very depressing to see comatose individuals who might not be there if they had been a little more responsible.

Splat! Two years ago a motorcycle was being operated in front of me on rt 146 south in MA. He lost control of his bike in front of me. He fell off the bike and went head over heals at least 6 times. He was wearing a helmet and lived to talk. I would say if he was not wearing a helmet he would not be here. Hmm we have seatbelt laws but maybe not helmet.Where is the logic….oh it’s politics, I almost forgot… live to tell
