If the State Plan is cheaper, it is for a reason. If I were running a town, I would never put my employees health coverage with a State run plan. They almost always go broke eventually.

You are absolutely correct that it is cheaper for a reason. The reason is that they don’t pay executives exorbitant bonuses and they aren’t trying to rack up as much profit as they can.

I agree with John in his distrust of anything the State does in the way of an insurance plan or program – having seen so many “failed” programs of this type. But, please do note the powerhouse Democratic personnel involved, and having done so, you may assume that there is a lot of “slippage” in the funds. The author of the article mentions “broker fes” without further identifying the nature of same. “Commissions” are different than “Broker Fees”, and there is no mention of “Service Fees” that may have been paid to the agents/brokers. If politicians and political types are involved, there must be some benefit to them . No question that other State-originated insurance plans pour out large amounts of money to politicaly-connected peopel who run or work for them.

I apologize for the typos – my ability to spell is fine, my fingers on the keyboard are not so fine.
