Walnut Creek, Calif.-based Heffernan Insurance Brokers recently acquired Consuasor Insurance Advisors in New York.
Founded in 2006, Consuasor is a multi-lines middle market broker with offices in New York City and Long Island, New York. Consuasor’s New York City operations will relocate to Heffernan’s midtown office, while its Long Island office will become Heffernan’s tenth location nationally.
Heffernan Insurance Brokers’ CEO, F. Michael Heffernan III, said the acquisition substantially expands the company’s footprint in the region.
Former Consuasor President and CEO Marc Hudak will serve as regional senior vice president, overseeing the group benefits practice for the New York City office of Heffernan Insurance Brokers. Hudak brings with him a three-person support team and a book of benefits business, along with commercial insurance and personal lines.
