McQueary was too scared of the good ole boys network at PSU football scene to go right to the police.
You’d be surprised how easily folks look the other way when kids are getting hurt. These people care more about their own safety and wellness than the needs of a child who is being grievously harmed.
I grew up around these kind of people, church going folks most of them, ignoring the well known fact my kid sister and I were being physically and emotionally abused. No one cared – or maybe they did – but not one single soul said a word to anyone who could actually put a stop to it.
So many words wasted. Penn State should stop worrying about Coach Paterno’s reputation and offer whatever money is available to the victims before that is wasted too. If Coach Paterno’s only sin was looking the other way, that’s enough. It’s sad that winning was so important to them that they ignored the abuse to children.
Good point. I thought that very same thing. Reporting it having done nothing while it was happening makes him just as guilty. What cowards- all of them, including Paterno!
Thinking that McQueary is worthy of a wrongful termination suit & free of culpability here is idiocy.
If he doesn’t move to personally help a child, should he wait & tell his boss then or the next day?
I say, if your not going to help him yourself, CALL 911.
At the very least, he should be charged with “failure to render aid.”
Good point. I always thought about that myself. Why be there and see it but not stop it. They should all be thrown in prison and see how they like it!
