Arbella Expands Carpartment Insurance to Connecticut

The Arbella Insurance Group has expanded Carpartment insurance to Connecticut, via Bearingstar Insurance agents. Designed to help make renter’s insurance policies simpler and more affordable, Carpartment offers discounts to tenants who insure their cars with Arbella.

According to Jim Hyatt, Arbella’s vice president of Personal Lines, renter’s insurance is carried by only 31 percent of tenants nationwide, and many of the uninsured have no idea that their possessions aren’t covered.

“Tenants, especially first-time renters, need to realize that going without renter’s insurance is a big risk, as rental units are burglarized 50 percent more often than owner-occupied properties,” he said.

With Carpartment, Arbella is offering policyholders the opportunity to add renter’s insurance to their car insurance starting at $3 a week, ensuring that their property is covered in case of loss or damage by fire, burst pipes, burglary, and more. Arbella is also offering a 10 percent auto insurance discount for existing policyholders who also purchase renter’s insurance through the Carpartment program.

Carpartment insurance is a marketing term used to describe the joint purchases of Arbella’s rental and auto policies. Connecticut policies are underwritten by Covenant Insurance Company, a member of the Arbella Insurance Group.
