Better late than never – but it would’ve been nice if they got them back in 2010 when agents started screaming about it in the first place……..

GEICO has made a mockery of the auto insurance in MA. It’s one thing to have legitimate competition, but when the “other guys” are ignoring the laws and doing what they want, we local & professional agents are at a disadvantage. Competition is fine as long as we all have to play by the same rules. Allstate also has been doing illegal activity in MA and they too have been fined.

Gee, according to the last GEICO article on this forum, some said they were perfect, didn’t low ball coverage, had all these trained, licensed people working for them, had such great claims service etc. Hmm! Uncle Warren doesn’t know what is going on in the ranks. No wonder he is retiring.

I must admit that I was taken in by GEICO’s advertising. But now I understand why they are able to save 15% in the pricing. GEICO not only saves by not having to pay commissions, but now I find that claims are stalled, lowballed or just plain denied. I was stunned when friends of mine told me their horror stories and it all comes down to a company that believes it is above all others. My advice to anyone who has a claim against one of GEICO’s insureds is to just turn it in to your own carrier, have your carrier pay the claim, even if you have to satisfy the deductible, and let subrogation take its course. You’ll be made whole soooer and you’ll feel better about it. GEICO may be a good buy on the market but not for the consumer….snake oil is alive and well, and selling in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania.
