Acadia Insurance Launches Small Business Product in Maine, New Hampshire

Acadia Insurance, a W. R. Berkley Co., has launched a new insurance policy for small businesses in Maine and New Hampshire called AcadiaAdvantage. The product is expected to be available in additional states this fall.

AcadiaAdvantage combines features of a business owner’s policy (BOP) with the coverage and rating options of a package policy. More specifically, the new product provides coverages that are designed to meet the needs of most small businesses. In addition, it allows for limits to be increased when desired by individual customers.

The product’s options are derived from proprietary property and liability endorsements that allow individual property and liability limits to be increased to meet the coverage needs of the insured. Business Income coverage is included automatically on an actual loss sustained basis for up to 12 months for most classes of business. The product is available to small businesses across many industries, including retail, wholesale, professional office, services, and manufacturing.

“There are additional endorsements available for specific classes of business that have special coverage needs not included in the base product, including endorsements for contractors, health care organizations, hotels and motels and limited cooking restaurants,” said Vivian Bunton, assistant vice president, Small Commercial, Acadia Insurance. “Employment practices liability and first party data breach coverages also are available on the AcadiaAdvantage policy.”

Bunton noted that Acadia Insurance has made investments in its agency rating technology to improve speed, ease of use and functionality for agents. “Acadia agents can tailor a broad range of coverages and limits on MyAcadia Quote and can submit both small commercial and middle market business to Acadia Insurance,” she added.

AcadiaAdvantage is backed by Acadia’s Closer coverage commitment that includes:
