I feel for these 2 women – BUT, how did they get (or i guess, eat the lead paint??) where was the mom or dad? didn’t they make sure their kids were safe and living in a safe environment? who/what company was brought into the lawsuit? was it a paint company? probably tough to tell what paint manufacturer made the paint years and years ago. did they sue maybe the landlord if they were renting? i wonder if these 2 women sued their parents for letting them eat the lead paint? A 3 million dollar lawsuit – c’mon!!! were these kids really behind in academics throughout school due to the lead paint or was it maybe their parents never did any homework with them or made sure their grades were decent or attended parent/teacher conferences?? nowadays, everyone wants to blame someone else for their shortcomings or attempts to figure out a way for someone else with deeper pockets to put the blame on and attempt to collect from the deep pocket person/company. if and when they get their “found” and “unearned” money, they’ll probably blow it in a few years buying “bling”.

Just where in the article did it say the woman ATE the paint? It only says they were exposed to lead in the paint. Lead can cause all kinds of mental issues up to, and including, death.

Lousy article. It doesn’t even say who was sued or how they allegedly were exposed to the lead paint. It is interesting that these issues were not brought up until so many years later… I wonder how, at age 18 or older, anyone could determine where the exposure came from.

Lead paint has been a known hazard since the ’70s and it was banned in 1978 — well before either of these individuals was born. Therefore, I must question how they were exposed and how it was someone else’s fault.

I did a little research and apparantly they were living in a rented apartment that was built priro to 1955 and had lead paint. It had not been upgraded in 1996 when they lived there. The youngest girl was diagnosed with 2x the amount of lead in utero. The other one over 2x. They sued the landlord.
