    Well, of course, Martha is focusing on the job that she was elected to for the remainder of her term. She is no Eric Cantor who bailed after not making the primary cut.

      Don’t let the door hit you in the butt on the way out Martha. Obviously, the people don’t want you anymore. You can always be a lobbyist like Mary Landrieu is going to be.

        Actually, our Insurance Commissioner is leaving to run an insurer. Wonder how he got that job.

            Former government employees are often barred by statute from lobbying the agencies and people with whom they served. The reason for this is to prevent undue influence from being exerted on these people while they worked for the government. In Massachusetts the three most recent House Speakers were all convicted of felonies and forced from office (our current speaker is an unindicted co-conspirator in a major state corruption case). I live here. I don’t like this. I am concerned about this guy getting special treatment for his company. I think I have reason to be concerned.
