Sheldon Silver’s indictment is further proof that our state capital is a cesspool of corruption. The comment from the US Attorney that was quoted in the WSJ about “stay tuned” leads me to believe others are in his crosshairs. If, after due process, Mr. Silver and others are convicted I hope the serve long sentences.

NY has a ways to go to catch up with Illinois on corrupt officials. They are a dime a dozen in the land of Lincoln.

“’I am confident that after a full hearing that I will be vindicated of these charges,’ a subdued Silver told reporters as he walked out of Manhattan Magistrate’s Court Thursday, wearing a charcoal pinstripe suit with a maroon tie.”

I expect you’ll be receiving a new pinstripe outfit in due course, Mr. Speaker, and no, you won’t be playing for the Yankees.
