the media should be restricted to the use of “historic” once every 100 years, and no more often. I am sick of seeing it five times a year.

Based on this logic, bob, I have a question for you.

      FOR EXAMPLE:
1902 – 24hrs of snow totaled 50″ (set a new record at that time)
2010 – 24hrs of snow totaled 55″ (set a record at that time)
2015 – 24hrs of snow totaled 100″ (set a new record at that time)

So you’re saying the 2015 storm should NOT be considered a historic storm because that phrase was used 5 years before about the 2010 storm?
