Just make it SIMPLE & FAIR… deregulate the cab companies! Let the taxi drivers charge whatever they want, just like Uber. Both are taking a passenger from Point A to Point B. Uber just has venture capital pushing all the politicians to acquiesce to their demands without providing any protection to the passenger. Uber drivers do not have physicals, do not pass drug tests, do not have to take CPR courses, do not have to pay for medallions, do not have to have the car safety inspected at least once a week. As a passenger I prefer to be in a cab which is regulated for safety and reasonable rates as opposed to the “RIDE SHARING EXPERIENCE” of an Uber vehicle. Can anyone explain to me EXACTLY what that “ride sharing experience” is?

I can’t explain the experience, Trish, but I know that I’ve never paid nor charged someone to “share” something.

Totally agree. If given the choice between a regulated cab ride or taking my chances with Joe Schmoe, I’m going with the cab ride.

COMMERCIAL insurance is one thing to look at but the biggerissue is while the ride share driver is off app and on own time. Most of these drivers are in essence uninsured because once their personal carrier finds out they are canceled.
