$1.5 million limits on a Homeowners? Perhaps they meant $500,000 on the underlying Homeowners and $1,000,000 on a Personal Umbrella. In any case, it is woefully inadequate for the families loss. Since both the mother and shooter are dead, what else could they get? One of the most stupid thing I have heard of is a mother buying a mentally ill son a high powered rifle. Is that asking for big trouble or what?
In response to Agent — the state of Connecticut completed an exhaustive report that took over a year and half to document and review all evidence available and they concluded that no probable link exists between the actions of Adam and his mild form of Asperger’s. In fact, what I find much more amazing is Adam’s medical records are sealed due to privacy laws.
I do agree that the 1.5M, nor any amount, will ever compensate the families for their loss.

Obviously, he was sick enough to go in and massacre those kids without giving it another thought. Connecticut is just being politically correct with their conclusions.
I don’t believe Asperger’s or any other mental disorder is solely an American phenomenon. Funny how we don’t hear about this type of massacre happening in other countries. Every country has crazy people.
Really, Captain? Do you know what was going on in an elementary school in China on 12/14/12? Children were getting massacred by a machete wielding psycho. Same out come, different weapon.
