I guess if your family member was indeed the one who received a prescription filled incorrectly and died, you may feel differently about the value of human life.

“Lauren Irwin, a lawyer for McPadden, in a phone interview said the jury reached “a fair and just verdict.”

Plaintiff’s attorney just got a $10M paycheck. Of COURSE it’s fair and just…

I’d bet that no check has been cut. Wally World can afford to appeal and appeal and drag out the process until the plaintiff cries uncle.

For those that consider this excessive, punitive damages are to ‘punish’ the offender. The question the jury was considering is: ‘How much would Walmart have to pay to get it to change its ways?’ They settled on 1/1000 of their annual earnings. Like I said above, they won’t end up paying anywhere near this much when the appeals are all through.

Will they roll back the verdict once it’s settled? Just wondering.
