Penn. Issues Consumer Alert for Homeowners on Appealing Flood Maps

    I do not know how it works in PA. But in Maine the consumer must pay a lic. surveyor to do an elevation certificate and then fill out the about 7 page request for a LOMA and then wait.
    This costs between $500 & $750 paid for by the consumer that had no idea they were in a flood zone until now. And now after being forced to buy the policy and waiting for the LOMA if granted. they do not get all their money back if the LOMA is approved.
    It is outrageous! So the consumer is paying to Map the state for FEMA.
