Amazing. I thought making something illegal would stop people from engaging in such behavior. See how well it has worked with marijuana use.

Less laws, less government. When will the oppressive government realize that making something illegal does not stop the behavior. It just creates more control over our lives and more criminals which increases costs to the taxpayers.

Where are my freedom loving, pro-liberty, anti-government, right wing friends to back me up?

      Ron,

While I agree that the government control needs to be reduced.

We should have the right to choose to (or not) protect ourselves. We should not be required by law to put on our seat belt or motorcycle helmet or we should have the right to use crack cocaine if we want.

Maybe we should have the choice to text, drink, use drugs, read the newspaper and heaven knows what else while we are driving. The big issue with this is what it does to other people.

Why should anyone be maimed or die because someone choses to engage in these behaviors? That is morally wrong.

Having a law in place won’t necessarily stop the behaviors but it should put consequences in place.

The attitude of “I can do what I want no matter the consequences or effect on others – it is my right” needs to be adjusted.

I love life, freedom and liberty for all – not just the folks who want to do what they want and harm others in that quest.

Vickie, way to hand poor Ron his head yet again. The fact that they wrote 6,131 tickets for texting while driving points out how out of control this behavior is. That is only a fraction of how many were doing it. Some are better at hiding it than others. Those free Obama phones are a big issue in our society.

BWAHAHAHAHA. Ron was clearly being sarcastic – see his “right wing friends to back me up” comment. since you disagree with sarcastic Ron and agree with Vikie’s reply, you really just disagreed with things you’ve said in the past! man, you are such a hypocrite.

BWAHAHAHAHA! Still Confused I see. You don’t know Ron like I know Ron. By the way, I haven’t seen you disavow Bernie yet. I know you would really like to have some more free stuff that he wants to hand out at a mere $16.3 Trillion. By the way, he has a snowballs chance of being elected since Hilliary has all the pledged delegates even though he keeps beating her weak butt in primaries.

I can’t wait until Ron posts on this thread again, tells you he was being sarcastic, then you run away from this thread with your tail between your legs never to post on this topic again.

By the way, I haven’t seen you disavow Trump when he said he would force the military to torture the families of suspected terrorists. Or when he said he would date his daughter if she wasn’t his daughter. Or when he said he saw Americans dancing on rooftops celebrating 911.

          Agent,

How did Vickie hand me my head? By saying she supports more government? Are you also supporting more government? You are not a very good Conservative.

You totally missed my point again.

2 simple yes or no questions:

          1. Did making texting and driving illegal eliminate the behavior?
          2. Did making texting and driving illegal create more government control?

Please stop saying you know me. Donald Trump knows me better than you do.

saw an obituary the other day that went viral. the gist of it was “Faced with the decision of voting for either Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump, she decided instead to pass into the life everlasting.”

I still can’t believe this is real. I mean, I’ve voted for other candidates just so their opponent didn’t win, but in this case I can’t even do that. It’s like being offered a choice between a steaming pile of dog feces or a bucket of cat vomit, and you have to choose one of them to live with for the next 4 years.

            PS–don’t text and drive.

Glad you like Cole, Agent, and I’m glad he’s doing well for you. He was our ace for years, including 2008. Guy is a class act; he and his wife did a lot of great things for our community as well. Would be great to have him in the rotation right now.

So even texting is Obama’s fault. For the non-idiots, the Obama phone rants are factually incorrect, and much like the welfare Queens driving Cadillac’s story, is a lie based at least in part on racism. Coincidentally the Obama phones program began in a limited way under Reagan, as did the Cadillac lie. It was expanded under Clinton and Bush, and is not funded by government.

Maybe we should call them Bush phones, right Agent, you imbecile?

        Vickie,

Where in my post did I say people can do whatever they want without consequences? I prefer the consequences to be handled in civil court.

What is and isn’t moral is relative and should not be legislated. Some will say it is morally wrong to force religion by creating laws based on religious beliefs in a secular nation.

You can’t limit freedom and liberty for yourself, but restrict others.

If laws stopped behavior that negatively impacts others, then I would support them. Otherwise, only actions that are intended to and directly harm others should be outlawed.

          Here’s the tricky part:

You stated “What is and isn’t moral is relative and should not be legislated.”

Then you follow with: “…only actions that are intended to and directly harm others should be outlawed”

But isn’t that just a moral viewpont?

Get, I have told Ron many times that he doesn’t know right from wrong. His post continue to confirm that he has no clue about right and wrong.

and ron has told you many times that you are a hypocrite and have poor reading comprehension skills, but your posts continue to confirm that you contradict yourself all the time and don’t know how to understand a point someone is making if that point does not agree with your beliefs at 100%

            Get your facts straight,

Fair enough. I will retract my position that morality should not be legislated, but I maintain that only actions that are intended to and directly harm others should be outlawed.

            Agent,

That is how you should respond when someone challenges you, not go on the attack.

Do you think it is right for the government to intrude more into our private lives? That is what you have been supporting.
