My brother died of ALS. I pray that there will be a cure found. You would think that with all of the cases and the armed forces now recognise that it may be related to the shots that you get in the military, there would be enough to find a cure. It is a horrible desease to watch a loved one die from.

Jerry Lewis did a telethon for 50 years raising money for research for neuromuscular diseases and each year, the theme was the cure is right around the corner. I think more progress has been made against Cancer than ALS. It is a very terrible disease. I applaud Mr. Fishman for his efforts. It is very personal to him.

Although a correlation between ALS and military service has been identified, no cause has yet been determined. The comment about immunizations being implicated is premature.

Class act. I sensed that in the little time I spent with Jay. He ran Travelers with intelligence, care and integrity. He delivered some of the most astute insight on the industry, the economy and government policy I’ve ever seen. And now, he’s turning his challenges into opportunities for others. Thank you, Jay, for your inspirational leadership.
