Erie Insurance of Pennsylvania Announces Executive Leadership Promotions

Erie Insurance, an Erie, Penn., based insurer, has announced several new executive leadership promotions. This move follows the company’s June 2016 announcement that Timothy G. NeCastro was named the firm’s next CEO.

Lorianne Feltz has been named as executive vice president of services. In this role, Feltz will be responsible for leading Erie Insurance’s corporate claims, field claims and customer service divisions. She has spent 27 years with Erie Insurance, previously holding positions including field assignments as district sales manager, branch manager and regional vice president, senior vice president of agency and marketing and, most recently, senior vice president of customer service.

Additionally, Doug Smith has been named as executive vice president of product and sales. In this role, Smith will oversee the company’s three product lines – personal, commercial and life insurance. Smith has held this position in an interim capacity since July 2016 after spending the past eight years as senior vice president of personal lines. Prior to that, Smith served as a leader in the firm’s actuarial division.

Erie Insurance’s executive council, its top-level leadership team, will also include Sherri Silver, senior vice president of strategic marketing. Silver is in her seventh year with the firm. Silver initially joined in 2010 as senior vice president of marketing. In 2014, her oversight was broadened to establish the firm’s customer experience priority initiative.

In addition to Smith, Feltz and Silver, members of the executive council include Gregory Gutting, executive vice president and CFO, Bob Ingram, executive vice president and Chief Information Officer, Sean McLaughlin, executive vice president and general counsel, Dionne Wallace Oakley, senior vice president of human resources, and David Bednar, vice president of executive support. All members of the executive council will report directly to the CEO.

The new appointments are effective Nov. 10.
